Center for American Studies Receives Major Endowment Gift

The Center for American Studies has received a $5 million endowment gift to support its core academic program and provide internships to its undergraduate students. A gift from a foundation that wishes to remain anonymous, the endowment will allow the Center to sponsor new seminars, expand its civic engagement curriculum, and offer opportunities to faculty in other departments to teach in the program.  Casey Blake, the Mendelson Family Professor of American Studies and Center Director, expressed the gratitude of the Center and its faculty:  “This extraordinary gift is a game-changer for American Studies and a wonderful vote of confidence in our work.”
