Matt Anestis
Matt Anestis is a long-term investor and strategist. He served as Managing Director at BlackRock for 15 years through 2025. Most recently, he held the position of Global Head of Investment Process and Operating Risk for BlackRock Alternatives, which managed >$320 billion in assets and commitments. Prior to that, Matt was Global Head of BlackRock Platform Innovation, Chief of Staff to the COO and President of BlackRock, Head of BlackRock's Boston office, COO of BlackRock's Aladdin Product Group, and the first COO of BlackRock Alternatives. Mr. Anestis was a Partner and Managing Director at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Hong Kong and worked in BCG's offices in Boston and Toronto. He also worked for Microsoft and served in the White House.
Additionally, Mr. Anestis serves as a Senior Advisor to the Presidential Scholars Foundation and is a former member of its Board of Trustees. He founded Boston and Toronto Volunteer Bridge and was recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2006. He earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in economics from Harvard, his MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School (Baker Scholar), and his JD degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
