Elizabeth Spiers is a media critic, New York Times opinion writer, Slate Money co-host, and progressive pollster. Liz co-founded the website Gawker, which made enemies of tech billionaires and was at the center of a ruinous lawsuit secretly bankrolled by Peter Thiel, so she has a lot to say about conservative politicians waging lawfare on the press. Among her great qualities are that she's afraid of nothing and no one, and she's been publicly critical of her one-time boss, the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner, exposing his unethical leadership of the New York Observer while she edited there. (Good piece on that here; she also wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post about him.)
