John McWhorter is an Associate Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. McWhorter writes a weekly column for the New York Times and hosts the language podcast Lexicon Valley. Prof. McWhorter is the Author of Woke Racism: How a New Religion Has Betrayed Black America & Nine Nasty Words: English in the Gutter: Then, Now, and Forever.
